Red wheels beneath black steam
A black boiler, red running gear and separate tender give this QJ-style locomotive its classic heavy steam-train appearance.
The QJ’s mechanical character
A decorated front, long black boiler and red connecting rods make the locomotive interesting from its driving wheels to its cab.
Locomotive cab
Dark side windows, a small number plate and the adjoining boiler fittings give the QJ’s cab its heavy steam-locomotive character.
Locomotive front
A bright front lamp, red plate and surrounding handrails give the black locomotive face a distinctive identity.
Side rods and wheels
Red wheels and silver-coloured connecting rods create the most recognisable mechanical detail along the boiler.
